SAFETY AND SECURITY
The safety and security of our passengers and our staff is our highest priority.
To ensure your maximum wellbeing during your flights with us, Air Italy complies with the strictest safety measures in Civil Aviation.
Our safety and security policy is the same as that adopted by the largest and safest airlines in the world and is continually updated to keep abreast of all developments.
The Air Italy safety plan is in line with the requirements of the Italian and European Civil Aviation Authorities and is so severe as to have also obtained the approval of the United States and Canadian Authorities, which have some of the strictest safety and security rules.
Air Italy is committed to providing all its passengers with top quality service and therefore prepares its staff at all levels to tackle problems connected with safety and security in the best possible way.
Our company invests many resources in security measures and carries out strict controls to ensure that the procedures are correctly applied.
For example, Air Italy:
- screens all its staff and keeps them constantly up to date with periodic safety and security courses;
- monitors your baggage all the way from check-in to loading on the aircraft so that it always arrives intact and safely into your hands only;
- carries out the necessary safety and security checks on its aircraft before and after each flight;
- has CCTV systems installed on its aircraft (allowing pilots to monitor the area just outside the cockpit);
- protects the cockpits with bullet-proof reinforced doors;
- takes even stricter measures and carries out even more in-depth investigations on flights considered “at risk”.
- You can rest assured with Air Italy: our Security Office is always working to guarantee your full safety.
FLIGHT SAFETY
In accordance with its "Policy for Flight Safety and Quality ", the priority of Air Italy is to obtain the highest flight safety levels by comprehensive and unwavering compliance with relevant national and international rules and regulations.
This is basically achieved through scrupulous implementation of its Safety Management System (SMS).
Both Civil Aviation Authorities and flight safety experts as well as leading aeronautical industries have confirmed that an SMS paves the way to the future for flight safety, providing the most effective tools and methods to build up a suitable system for forestalling any event that could endanger safety.
Air Italy applies its own SMS according to the following principles:
- a systematic approach to flight safety, which involves the whole corporate structure;
- a structure dedicated to effective, efficient and well-structured flight safety;
- an efficient system aimed at preventing flight safety problems from arising.
Flight safety involves the whole Airline and that is why all Air Italy staff is committed to full and responsible implementation of all the standards and procedures relating to each person's activities.
The aim is to achieve top results each one in their own sector in the awareness that flight safety is obtained by excelling in all spheres.
In conclusion, Air Italy is a permanent member of the Italian Flight Safety Committee (IFSC), thereby ensuring its full and convinced contribution to the sphere of Civil Aviation Flight Safety.
MAINTENANCE
Quality in Air Italy’s technical area depends on a team of Italian technicians and engineers who ensure the effective maintenance and the reliability of all our flights. This team also ensures the continuing airworthiness of the aircraft.
Continuing airworthiness of an aircraft is the new and strict condition that European legislation imposes on a certificated air operator subject to Part M of EASA regulations. To comply with this requirement it is necessary to satisfy all the technical, maintenance and documental aspects laid down by the manufacturer and by the European authorities. Working to the same philosophy, the Air Italy maintenance organisation, with EASA certificate Part 145, constantly services the aircraft.
Air Italy relies on the most important European technical service centres for extraordinary maintenance of the aircraft and engines, working with partners of the stature of Pratt & Whitney, General Electric, Lufthansa, MTU and LTU.
Every scheduled or special maintenance check is carried out with maniacal thoroughness and precision to guarantee the total safety of our flights at all times.
